The objectives of the preliminary project have been to (1) document the problem that: “FM knowledge is only to a limited extent implemented in new construction, reconstruction or renovation”; (2) establish an overview of the published literature on how FM knowledge can be transferred between projects and how it is implemented in projects and (3) to identify possible barriers and solutions for including FM knowledge in building projects (New Office Building, 2016). The project has mainly focused on office building projects as these are experiencing the greatest difficulty in including FM knowledge in the building design process.
