Re: Proposal for Employment Sponsorship
Hello,
My name is Sunday Nwokoro. I am 27 years old and I am presently residing in Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria. I am writing this proposal with the hopes of receiving an offer for employment sponsorship. I am a hardworking man with hopes to be able to gain meaningful employment that I am unable to achieve in my own country. I have parents that are getting up in years that I want to be able to help them maintain. I have taken on different jobs just to keep a roof over my head and food on my table. The job currently work at pays $3 per day. I would just like the opportunity to prove that I can be a valuable and reliable worker. I will be able to acquire a visa on my own. I am just looking for a better opportunity.
Let me just tell you a little about myself.
I am a spiritual man who works six days a week and goes to church on Sundays. And when time permits, I spend time with my family and occasionally attend celebratory functions with family and friends.
I began my first job when I was 19 working at a fast food establishment. My title was lobby attendant. I served customers their orders, cleaned tables, and made outside business deliveries to customers. I worked there for a period of six months.
My next job was at one of the local markets. I held two positions while employed there which enabled me to have two titles. One being a butcher and the other, a sales rep. As a butcher, my duties consisted of cutting and packaging of chicken, beef, goat meat, stock fish and cat fish. We did not have any type of power saw so the only tool that I had to use for cutting was a machete knife which required accuracy and precision. My duties as a sales rep involved helping customers locate product in the store, advised the customers of the product they might be have use of. I provided them with details and descriptions of products. I worked at the market for a little over 3 years.
I then did security work while also working at a generator plant in my available time. As a security guard, I kept watch over businesses both large and small. I also provided security for people’s homes. It was rotating shift work and the times changed daily and not weekly. Oftentimes, we were not allowed a thorough break in between shifts because there were times that the longest break between shifts would be 8 hours. When I could fit it into my schedule, I worked at the generator plant. We would repair lighting fixtures and fill generators with gas products. If a generator was down and it was an easy fix, I would repair it. If it were more complicated, I would prepare a report and submit it to the plant manager.
I have performed duties as a carpenter’s helper. I would carry the tools to the various job sites. I would measure tile and wood for the carpenters. I would then cut the required pieces, in which I used a table saw.
I am presently a warehouse worker where I stock products. I load and unload trucks of products like cement, bricks, plywood, tile and various other building materials. I would also assist my coworkers in making deliveries of building materials in the neighboring towns.
I do hope that you will take me into consideration for employment and I look forward to the opportunity of talking with you.
Sincerely,
Sunday Nwokoro
